Named after a stone that shows three colours.

A small Zanzibari company running the island and the mainland to the same standard, end to end.

Our story

One stone, three colours

Tanzanite is the only gemstone found in one country on earth, dug from a few square kilometres of ground near Kilimanjaro. Turn it in the light and it shows navy, then violet, then green — three colours from one stone.

That is how we see Tanzania, and it is the reason we refuse to make guests choose between the coast and the interior.

We started in 2016 running dhow trips out of Stone Town. Guests kept asking the same question at the end of the week — can you do the Serengeti too? So we built the mainland side to the same standard, and now we run the whole trip end to end.

We are still small on purpose: enough vehicles and boats to control our own quality, few enough that nobody becomes a booking reference.

What we promise

Four promises, each with the mechanism attached

We answer within 24 hours

Including the enquiries that turn out not to be bookings. If we have not replied by tomorrow, send it again — something went wrong on our side.

We do not resell your booking

Where we use a partner — a camp, a charter airline — we name them in your quote before you pay anything.

We quote the whole number

Park fees, conservation levies, VAT and transfers are inside the price. There is no second invoice at the gate.

We employ Zanzibaris

On proper contracts, paid monthly rather than per trip, so the guide standing next to you is not depending on your tip for rent.

Responsible travel

Specific, not aspirational

  • No single-use plastic bottles on any trip. Every guest gets a refillable one on day one and we refill it from a cooler.

  • Dolphin trips run to a no-chase code. We end an encounter early rather than crowd a pod, and we say so before you board.

  • Stone Town walks buy lunch from family kitchens rather than hotel restaurants, so the money stays in the alleys you walked through.

  • We pay the full conservation levy on every park entry — never a reduced-entry arrangement at the gate.
